"The
staff at Prairie Home
not only met our expectations, but also greatly
exceeded them. Everyone involved in the care of
our Mother was well trained and exhibited the professionalism
we had hoped for.”

House
of Joy Now Open!
House
of Joy, the newest addition to the Prairie
Home family of residences, opened its doors ahead of
schedule on October 1. “It’s absolutely
beautiful,” says John McCarthy of the new 20-room
home. “We are thrilled with the way this home
is designed and furnished. But even more than that.
we are excited to be able to extend care to more families.”
Like
the other Prairie Homes, the rooms at House
of Joy are phone, cable and Internet ready,
waiting for each resident’s personal furnishings
and decorating touches. This new home also features
a private (rather than shared) half bath, along with
room-by-room temperature controls. The House
of Joy is larger than the existing Prairie
Homes, offering gracious sitting areas where residents
can read, chat among themselves, or visit with family
and friends. The family friendly library is stocked
with puzzles, books and games. A large gathering area
off the dining room features a fireplace and flat screen
TV, and overlooks a newly created pond. Nearby, a cheerful
sunroom opens onto a back patio and offers a place to
rock and enjoy the day. Wheelchair accessible walking
trails have now been linked to existing trails at Prairie
Homes, enabling residents and visitors to enjoy the
garden courtyards. |
