"The
staff at Prairie Home
not only met our expectations, but also greatly
exceeded them. Everyone involved in the care of
our Mother was well trained and exhibited the professionalism
we had hoped for.”

Daily Life at Prairie Home
‘”The
glory of young men is their strength, gray hair the splendor
of the old.” Proverbs 20:28-30 |
Toward Independence, Grace and Dignity
At
Prairie Home, our goal is to help each resident live
to potential with as much independence as possible.
As the day begins, residents receive help with their
daily cares. Mornings are a peaceful and unhurried time
when residents rise and eat at the time they choose.
Three mornings a week, they also have the option of
attending a fitness class. As in any home, the rhythm
of daily life here often centers around meal time when
residents gather in the central dining room to share
conversation over hearty, home-cooked meals. |
 |
Afternoon
activities may include cards, puzzzles, games, bible study
and occasional visits from area entertainers, choruses
or service groups. On the weekly activity schedule, Wednesday
is set aside for onsite Beauty/Barbershop visits. Bingo
is a Thursday favorite, along with Friday night movies
and the afternoon Bible Study offered through Shepherd's
Care. Trips offsite can be arranged at any time during
the week via Medi-van service. While families are welcome
any time, weekends are often a time for special connection.
Private dining areas are available for family gatherings.
In the warmer months, our covered porches and wheelchair-accessible
walking paths offer opportunities to enjoy the day together.
In winter months, residents can snuggle into couches off
the main entrance for fireside chats with family and friends.
Whatever season or the time of day, here at Prairie Home,
our heart remains the same--to meet individual needs while
creating unique sense of home and family for everyone.
