That Show We Care
“Gray hair is a crown of splendor;
it is attained by a righteous life". Proverbs 16:30-32 |
Helping
People Reach Their Potential
Our
primary goal is to create an atmosphere where our residents
feel loved, and receive the physical, emotional and
spiritual care that is vital to their well being. We
want Prairie Home to feel as much like “home”
as possible, while incorporating special features to
keep our residents safe and give our families peace
of mind.
The Prairie Home facility was built in 1998, designed
specifically for residential elder care, with wide,
welcoming halls and doorways that keep wheelchairs and
walkers in mind. As a special touch, we’ve also
included radiant heat in our floors so there are never
any cold feet. It’s just a part the thoughtful
way we try to make people the focus of everything we
do.

It’s our privilege and our mission to care for
the spiritual, physical, emotional and social needs
of those we serve, and to provide loving support to
their families. The staff at Prairie Home works together

that helps your loved one toward maximum independence
and potential. |
At
Prairie Home, we:

is personalized for individual needs

to ability
• Treat every resident with dignity and respect
• Respect each resident’s individuality

Never
Any Hidden Fees
We understand that each resident has unique needs and
preferences. That’s why we schedule an assessment
with each resident and family prior to move-in. While
some assisted living facilities charge per care or service,
Prairie Home includes the following services within standard
monthly fees: |
•
Three meals a day served in a common dining area
• Housekeeping services
• Assistance with eating, bathing, dressing, toileting
and walking
• Access to health and medical services
• 24-hour security and staff availability

Our
Staff
It takes a special person to provide loving, compassionate
care for the elderly. We look for employees that have
a true interest and heart in serving the aging. Providing
quality care also requires adequate staffing. We have
one staff member for every six or seven residents. At
times, this ratio may drop lower when an individual
requires extra care. Every staff member goes through
a screening process, including a criminal background
check. We review applicants very carefully. All individuals
selected for employment at Prairie Home must be of high
moral and ethical character, and they must be involved
in long-term care because they want to assist the elderly.
They must also display a willingness to learn and keep
current in the changes required in long-term care. Prairie
Home provides ongoing in-service training, which includes
education in caring for residents with special needs.
